Settings & Customisation

Control OBS can be tailored to suit your setup. Rearrange the Dashboard, reorder tabs, switch themes, adjust recording behaviour, and configure how the app connects and stays alive in the background.

Dashboard widgets

The Dashboard tab is made up of widgets that you can show, hide, and reorder. Go to Settings › Dashboard to manage them.

Toggle widgets on or off using the switches in the widget list.
Drag widgets to reorder them on the Dashboard.
Collapse a widget on the Dashboard by tapping its header to save screen space.

Tab order

The bottom navigation tabs can be reordered to put your most-used tabs within easy reach. Go to Settings › Tabs and drag the tabs into your preferred order.

Appearance

Theme - switch between Dark and Light themes from Settings › Appearance.
Keep screen awake - prevents the screen from locking while the app is open and connected. Useful during a stream where you want to glance at the phone without unlocking it.

Recording settings

Go to Settings › Recording for the auto-record options:

Start recording with stream - automatically starts a recording when you go live.
Stop recording when stream stops - automatically stops the recording when the stream ends.

Both options can be overridden on a per-session basis using the checkbox in the stream start and stop confirmation dialogs.

OBS profiles

If you use multiple profiles in OBS Studio, you can switch between them from Settings › OBS Profile. Profiles store your OBS output settings, encoder config, and stream destinations.

Preview frame rate

The live scene preview frame rate can be adjusted from 1 to 15 FPS. Lower values use less bandwidth and are better for slow or remote connections. Go to Settings › Preview to change it.

Settings export and import

You can export your app settings (devices, deck layout, preferences) to a JSON file and import them on another device. Go to Settings › Export Settings. This is useful when setting up a new phone or sharing a deck layout with someone else.
